Still Fighting to Save Freedom at 35

The 35th Anniversary of Roe v Wade brings yet another extremist nomination for federal judge from the Bush Administration

January 22 marks the 35th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion, saving countless women’s lives. Yet, measures (people — more specifically, men) are being put into place as life-time federal judges in an effort to criminalize the procedure again. This is just the latest attack in a long war by George Bush and his followers on women’s autonomy.

Bush has nominated Richard Honaker, a lawyer from Wyoming. Mr. Honaker is not just any lawyer — he’s a religious political extremist on steroids! During his career as a state legislator, he introduced the “Human Life Protection Act” which would have outlawed ALL abortion in Wyoming. If we allow his appointment as a U.S. District judge, it will be a setback to women’s rights that we won’t recover from for decades. Read more about “Horrifying Honaker” here.

It’s time for American’s to stand up to men like George W. Bush and Richard Honaker. Contact your senators now! Making abortion illegal does not stop it. It only sends women back to a dark, dangerous place where they are forced to, literally, put their lives into the hands of criminals.

NARAL makes it easy to protest. Visit their website here and demand the Senate block this nominee.
